the Classics in Color
Spotlight
An initiative of The Classics in Color to raise awareness through conversation.
1
Research
TCIC consistently maintains a search for classicists, scholars of academia, organizations, and institutions that work to represent the underrepresented and amplify our voices. Imaan chose to publish her commitment to TCIC online in order to inform and educate. TCIC believes that talking about the past can propel us to a more equal and more equitable future.
2
Outreach
TCIC grounds itself on communication, working to connect as many different groups and mediums as possible. The process by which TCIC reaches out is motivated by the progress that ultimately comes of sharing our stories. We welcome discussion of experiences both positive and negative as long as we can learn, teach, and extend lessons.
3
Interview
TCIC conducts an interview with those who are willing to talk about the work of which they are a part or are aware within the sphere of the Classics that aims for inclusivity. Joining these efforts, TCIC supports all students of the Classics and believes that through these discussions we contribute to the greater good that is a new lens in which the Classics can be seen.
